The dress hunt begins

Hey all,

I've decided to do this through blogger instead of normal email conventions, so I can actually format images and links as I want it.. and it won't take up any of your mail box space. Yay! One of my good friends just got married this weekend and had all her bm's pick their own bm dresses and it turned out great. Course she controlled the color, but the style was totally up to the bm. Since we all have such different body types, I think this is the best way to go. Plus the photos that came from the wedding were all really nice.. and it was good to see everyone look so good and comfortable.

The color that I have in mind is pale or petal pink, so keep this in mind when you are choosing your style and fabric. As for length, it's again up to you. Just remember that temperatures in Vegas in May are anywhere from 85 to 105.

Since we are all in different areas, I will be ordering from an online bridal shop called netbride.com. Don't worry, I've heard a ton of good stuff about this online bridal store. Plus they get up to 20% off retail prices. Amy (my friend that just got married) said their service was exceptional and the dresses were great.

The 3 brands that I prefer are the following: Bari Jay, Jim Hjelm Just Teas, Wtoo. If price is an issue, here's a breakdown. Bari Jay's are in the lower range, Wtoo's are a little more and Jim Hjelm's are the most pricey, but I'm pretty sure that I can get them from netbride.com all for under 200 bucks. Originally I was going to get everyone to get J.Crew dresses but it looks like they've dropped my color (quartz) and the dresses were all well over 195 buckaroos.

Over the next few weeks I'll be going to different wedding boutiques in the city to look at pink swatches and stuff.. if you guys can get back to me your top 3 choices on style, I'll collect swatches from the brands and see what combination I like best. It'd be great if you could actually go and try on the dresses as well. If you can get back to me by Dec 1st, I'll be able to get the order out before the holidays.

If you don't see something that you like, feel free to look at other brands. I believe I can get Nicole Miller's through netbride as well, but if not, you just send me a swatch and I can see if it will match the wedding color scheme.

Alright, happy hunting. Feel free to leave comments..
